Myrthe Jager: Hunter with a mission

Talent with a mission

Myrthe started competitive skiing at the age of 8. Winter sports were what she looked forward to all year long and she wanted nothing more than to be on skis even more often.
In 2014 she started on the brush track of De Schans in Uden. It soon became clear that Myrthe was exceptionally talented. In 2018 she was included in the Snowsports Academy Racing program, where she is trying to make the step to the world top under the guidance of top coaches. Next year, the almost 18-year-old Dutch woman will make her debut in the FIS Europa Cup, the level just below the FIS World Cup, the highest podium in alpine skiing. A next step in achieving her big goal: the 2030 Winter Olympics in the French Alps.

More than skiing

Myrthe's life revolves around skiing, but she is also performance-oriented outside of that. Last school year she passed her VWO at the Topsport Talenschool of the SSGN in Nijmegen and with that she will start her HBO Physiotherapy next year. Her school also gives her the space to optimally focus on her top sports career.

Number 3 in the world
Talent is one thing, but results do not come without hard work. With 120 days of snow per year, Myrthe does everything she can to perform as well as possible in the snow. In February 2024, it earned her a bronze medal at the World Championship Giant Slalom for juniors under 18 in St. Jean d'Aulps, France. It shows her potential, especially when you know that slalom is her specialty. In that discipline, she is among the best 500 skiers in the world. By skiing her competitions in the European Cup next year, she can earn even more points and hopefully make the step to the best 200 in the world.

Top of the Netherlands

In her age category, Myrthe is among the best in the world, but nationally she is among the top of Dutch skiing. Among the juniors, she is multiple Dutch champion. Among the seniors, she has already achieved a number of fine results as a junior. As a 16-year-old, she already achieved two 4th places at the National Championships for Seniors in 2023. With two 2nd places and a 4th place in FIS competitions last season, Myrthe shows that she is ready to compete at the highest level and focus on her big goal in 2030.

Together towards 2030

In 6 years, Myrthe wants to shine at the Olympic Games in the French Alps. In addition to Snowsports Academy Racing, her school and family, Myrthe already has a number of loyal supporters and sponsors who help her achieve her goals. The more support, the greater the chance of success. Do you want to be part of Myrthe's Mission 2030? Contact us for the possibilities and make her goal your mission too!
